Did I get the right bulb for my tank?

The full spectrum bulb should be suitable for the plants, fish, and snails. You can run the light for 8-12 hours a day. Different species of plants require different amounts of light intensity. If you have only one flourescent lamp on the tank you might stick to low light requiring plants. Anubias species, java fern, java moss, cryptocoryne species, moss balls, anacharis, and hornwort are a few of the most common low light plants.
