Data recovery please help?

What seemed to be a minor Trojan that got into my system deleted the entire os. I absolutely need the files and programs from the hard drive (I am a software developer, potentially millions of dollars of unpublished software on that hard drive, it failed during a backup, my luck). So I thought of getting an ssd, installing windows on it, and using my previous drive as a slave drive. Could I recover my software and programs like that? How do I reformat my hard drive?

Most of the time you wont have a problem by just by adding it in after you install your operating system on your main drive. That said, one time I did have a problem with a nearly identical situation that you are trying. I had a old 1 TB drive with the original OS on it. I then removed that drive and installed a clean OS on a SSD then I connected the old 1 TB drive and the computer failed. When I took out the 1 TB the computer booted normally. I am pretty sure this was peculiar to windows 7 since I have been doing things that way for years with older OS's. To be on the safe side, I would connect both drives then do a format both drives using the Windows installation disk. Boot the computer to the installation disk with both drives installed. Using the advanced features of the installation disk, do a >delete partition>create partition>full format in that order. Do this for each physical disk. Then you can proceed with an install.

My son just turned seven and next school year they are putting him in general ed. last year he was in a regular classroom for about an hour a day. I fell good about next year for my son because they have answers. Second thing is were is the austisic child's parent as a parent of autism they need to be taking the opportunity to be correcting their child's behavior when they are saying mean things. I can pass basically every one of those colorblind tests fine and have been able to all my life but lately I've come to disagreement on what certain colors are on the color spectrum with some friends, specifically when comparing blue and green. here is my problem. I was a custodial parent with 2 children. I was receiving child support. My ex wife stopped paying it. The arrears eventually added to more than $8,000. She then applied for social security disability and was approved. That was when I was asked to go back to court where the judge put my child support and the arrears on hold. about 3 weeks later i received a notice from child support services telling me the case was terminated because she had no income that they could attach. I called them and was told that there was nothing I could do and that the arrears would also disappear. I also tried to get social security benefits for the children thru her SSD but she doesn't have enough work credits. She now has one of our children. and hasn't attempted to apply for child support. She will be getting a child tax credit on her tax return until the child with her turns 18. How can i attach her tax return to get payment for what is owed to me. A few saltwater aquarium questions?

I started my first saltwater aquarium two days ago. My tank sat for about three weeks before I added two true percula clown fish and a rose bubble tip anenome. Can someone help me with understanding light relating to astronomy?

This week the teacher brought out a machine that he coud put light bulbs in that were filled with different things (mercury was one). When he turned off all the lights in the room and turned on the machine, we held little squares up to our eyes and could see lines representing the material in the bulbs. He explained to us why different things emit different lights in the spectra (like red or violet) and he also showed us a picture of the sun broken down into distinct bright or dark lines in the spectra. What I don't understand is when we break up the light from distant astronomical objects into spectra, why do we often find distinct bright or dark lines in the spectra? (What produces the lines?) How can we use these lines to find out what an object is made of? If someone can explain this so I can feel confident in my understanding of this... that would be amazing!!

Me and my husband just got married and I had to use my credit card a little towards the end of the wedding planning. Now that the wedding is over, I'm trying to decide whether I should save or pay off debt. I have a little credit card debt and my husband is in his last semester of school. I have Asperger Syndrome (an autism spectrum disorder) and often have trouble with social protocols. I have never really had any friends who I could just call up and ask if they want to go to dinner or a movie or just hang out. I have been married for almost 4 years to an older man and I usually look to him for social cues. We have recently (5-6 weeks) made friends with another couple (also a younger girl/ older guy pair). They have always accepted my invitations except one time when their child was ill, and we always have a great time. I don't want to lose these friends, but I thought we were all having a good time here. I don't want them to think I am not interested in getting together just because I am not making an invitation. Daughter was recently diagnosed with Autism a few months ago?

Her neurologist said she is significantly delayed, struggles with development, and recommends 25 hrs. of ABA (applied behavioral analysis therapy a week.) The Neurologist said she needed to be in a smaller class with just a few kids in it so she can have more one on one attention. I just recently went to her IEP (individual education plan) meeting at her preschool. I told them she needs more therapy and the school district said they didn't want to overwhelm her with too much therapy right away although the neurologist said she needed more therapy. She also had an official Autism evaluation on April 6, 2011 and they recommended 20 hrs ABA therapy a week and diagnosed her with ASD (autism spectrum disorder). She attends preschool 3 days for 7 1/2 hrs per day altogether. She currently receives 2 1/2 hrs (day) of ABA therapy once a week ... so altogether she currently gets 30 mins of occupational therapy, 1 hour speech therapy + 2 1/2 hours of ABA a week. how can I get her more therapy and why is it sooo hard to get her more therapy? I called her neurologist and asked him to send her school a letter requesting 25hrs of ABA therapy. I have another IEP meeting next week??

Dual booting on an SSD?

So I have a 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD on the way and am going to dual boot Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Linux(Haven't decided on a distro yet). Self cleaning on GE Spectra DIAL KNOBS?

I am at wits end. I have cleaned oven and when I try to use it the clean light blinks and nothing heats to cook. So today I put the oven on clean again at 8 am, light burning steady. Then at 1pm the CLEAN and OVEN ON lights were blinking. I thought that maybe it was on the cool down stage. I then left it alone. 2 1/2 hours later they are still blinking. I get on google and read the manuals. There is nothing in there referring to any of this. One said to turn oven to off and open door. I did this and now when I turn oven on, it still shows only the clean light blinking. Can someone help me? I have not been able to use my oven for cooking for over 2 weeks. I break out in the summer?! Weirdest skin 'cycle' ever, help?

I get really tan in the summer but I break out with not pimples but little tiny bumps under my skin-this is just my forehead. Then right before school it magically clears up. Wtf?? Why is my Oscar growing so slow?

I got him at the end of Feb, and he was 2", from head to tail. Now, in mid-June, he's only 4 inches. Problem with SSD trying to Dual Boot?

So I just bought an OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD and installed windows 7 on it. Then I was going to put Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and accidentally hit to automatically have Linux pick the partitions which messed everything up. That led me to format all of the partitions on my SSD in Windows and now when I try to install windows on it it says it doesn't have a root file/folder or something like that. Is Electric Bass easy to learn and im "fit" to play it?

SSD or HDD (10 Points)?

SSD drives are good...IF...you can afford it! Most of us only use the SSD for the programs that take a long time to load...like the OS...I have a 64GB SSD for just my OS. I use a 1T WD "black" 64 MB cache in SATA 3...once I'm up and running all my programs and "saved" data works off the 1T which is way fast enough for me. Just hated to wait for the OS to load up. There is still no economically feasible reason for an SSD just yet. Just divide the price by the GB to get the cost per GB and you can see the SSD is WAY over priced!

Wedding invitation question...have things really changed this much?

I'm going to be getting married soon, and personally my budget is VERY tight, pretty much whatever I need to buy for my wedding is going to be coming out of me and my fiance's Future living expenses. So If there was a place i could cut corners with. ESPECIALLY on the invitations I would certainly do so. Among the issues I've run into (most of which I think I can hash through) is that I cannot get windows to recognize my OCZ PCI-e SSD as a potential boot device. I'm running this on the Asus x58 sabertooth board, and the raid controller on the board sees the drive, but the windows installer does not recognize it as a drive for installation. The problem won't go away unless you disconnect the external hard drives and plug them in only when needed. Why do you need two external hdd connected anyway? Every time you boot your computer, It's going to going to map all three hdd. IMO I would only connect the external dd when needed. Your'e just wasting resources.

You won't need watercooling, its a waste of money imo. 60c is normal for CPU under load temperatures. As for the graphics card, temperatures under load depends on how new it is. Older graphics cards were terrible at cooling, but the newer ones are decent. With the exception of 560's and 6970's, which can get quite hot. Regardless, 70c is fine. Computer chips will melt at 160-200c. Their designed to shut off at 110c, to prevent that happening. Instead of buying a water cooling system, just grab a new case for half the price. Do your research, figure out which ones have good airflow, features etc.
